In 1860, Edouard Heuer founded the watchmaking company that would later become TAG Heuer. Heuer introduced its first wristwatch chronograph in 1914. The watch crown was at the twelve position, as these first wrist watch chronographs were adapted from the more common pocket watch chronographs.
In 1916, Heuer introduced the Micrograph, the first stop watch accurate to 1/100th of a second. In 1933, the company introduced the Autavia, a dashboard watch timer used for automobiles and aviation. In 1958, Heuer introduced a new line of timepieces, designed to be mounted on the dashboard of an automobile, airplane or boat. Heuer continued to manufacture these into the 1980s. From the 1950s through the 1970s, Heuers were popular watches among automobile racers, both professionals and amateurs. In 1969, Heuer introduced the first automatic watch chronographs. Panerai was founded in 1860 in Florence by Giovanni Panerai. The company later became the official supplier to the Royal Italian Navy and expanded to building precision instruments. Officine Panerai is famous for its Radiomir and Luminor watches, notable for their use by Italian commando frogmen. By 1993, Panerai ceased providing watches to the Marina Militare (Navy), as they were no longer cost-effective. It then moved to launch its products to the civilian market, but remained relatively obscure until, in 1995, Sylvester Stallone bought a Panerai Luminor in Rome to wear during the shooting of Daylight, a movie in which he was the lead. Stallone ordered a small batch of these watches (customized with his signature on the case back), called Slytech. He offered them as gifts to friends, including Arnold Schwarzenegger. The watch gained rapid popularity, and Officine Panerai was eventually taken over by Richemont in 1997.

Automatic Watch Maintenance

Although automatic mechanical watches do not have batteries, some easy-to-follow maintenance is necessary for continued and long-lasting good use.

Self-winding automatic watches depend on the movement of the arm to operate and do require some winding, even if you wear your watch on a daily basis.

If you wear your Automatic watch everyday, it is best to wind it once, every two weeks to keep the wheels in motion and oil fluid. Simply wind the crown (the same knob used to adjust the time and date) until you meet slight resistance.

If you do not wear your Automatic watch everyday, you should try to wind it at least twice a week to ensure continuous operation, as well as keeping the inside mechanism in complete running order.

Try to wind your mechanical watch at the same time every day. This is extremely beneficial for the mechanism. You may want to make it a routine, winding it every morning when you wake up.

Avoid setting the day and/or date (if your watch has these functions) at night. The day-date mechanism is activated during the nighttimes hours and could be disrupted if set at this time.

And, always avoid wearing your mechanical watch, if you are playing a sport requiring continuous arm motion (e.g. tennis, baseball, golf), since continuous arm motion could damage the movement.

Our free watch sizing service is subject to the following conditions

We can only reduce the length of a bracelet, we can not increase the size beyond the original size. If you do require an extra large bracelet we can enquire with the manufacturer.
Sizing can only be done on watches with metal bracelets (i.e. steel or gold), material straps are already adjustable using the buckle/clasp.
Any links removed will be placed inside your watch box.

Fitting Your Wrist - Removing Links
If you have ordered a watch with a metal bracelet, there is a good chance you will have to have one or more links removed to fit your wrist properly. This can only be done with the wearer present. That is why we ship all watches unsized.

We suggest you take your watch to a local jeweler for sizing. Expect to pay a nominal fee for this service. Do not attempt to size your own watch! You may damage or scratch the watch and bracelet. The liability is yours - Replicaza will not accept a scratched or damaged watch for return.

Hold on to Them
After the links are removed, keep those links! Occasionally, a watch bracelet may break. It is a lot easier (and cheaper!) to have the bracelet repaired with your own links than ordering and shipping new ones.
(Please remember that once you have your watch sized, you may NOT return it for a cash refund or exchange)

Clasp Types:
To open this clasp, reach under the bracelet band and lift upwards. The band extends to allow for easy removal.

This clasp opens when buttons on each side of the bracelet band are pushed, then the band extends to allow for easy removal.

To open this clasp, lift the safety clasp then lift the folding clasp. When opened, the band extends for easy removal.

To open this buckle, pull the end of the strap through the belt loop and pull backwards. Lift the buckle arm upward out of the hole to release the strap.

To open this three-part clasp, first lift the safety clasp, then lift the top edge of the clasp tab and slide the hook forward to release.

To open this clasp, gently lift the clasp to unhook it.

What to expect when receiving your order:

These are a few helpful tips to help you receive your order in a timely and efficient manner. When the carrier delivers the products, the following steps will ensure that should you have any difficulties, they will be handled properly. This will also allow you to receive proper compensation. If you do not follow the steps below, you will be responsible for filing the claim against the carrier for compensation. However, if the steps are followed properly, Replicaza will file a claim on your behalf and either credit you for the damaged materials or replace them at your choice. Please also note that any refused shipments without the consent of Replicaza will be treated as a return with all of the associated costs.

Inspect goods for damages. Even small indicators such as rips in the surrounding plastic can be indicative of improper handling of your order. Check the shrink wrap on your box to see if it is intact. If it is not, please make a note of that on the Delivery Receipt.
Check your invoice or your order confirmation to verify that you have received the proper quantity of goods. If you believe that there are missing materials that were not shipped, please make sure you note those items and the delivering carrier and Replicaza will determine the source of the loss.
Once you have verified that no materials are damaged and missing, you may sign the delivery receipt indicating as much. However, if you do find damages or missing items, you must note them on the delivery receipt in order to receive compensation. It is up to you to inspect the box before signing for the product. Please take the time to go through and look at each item.
Proceed to notify Replicaza, listing the items damaged or missing, and indicate your preference for reimbursement or replacement of items. Before either can take place, a copy of the delivery receipt must be faxed or otherwise communicated to Replicaza. Please include separately the exact quantities and items that need to be replaced or reimbursed.
